October 2011 Waiver Changes

There are some tremendous changes coming to Waiver in October 2011. I hope you all have had a chance to review the new Waiver Manual, and with apologies, the broken link has been repaired: "Chapter 513 IDD Waiver Services Manual". There will be trainings in September for families of individuals receiving Title XIX I/DD Waiver. You can obtain further information and registration forms here.
Some items of interest in the new manual: person centered supports, therapeutic consultants, day hab, and different types of service modules. Most of the staffing will be lumped under the category of person centered supports. They will be classified as PCS:Agency (available only to staff not living in the home with the member) and PCS:Family(available only to staff living in the home with the member) There will no longer be ARH, AC, or community based day hab. Therapeutic Consultants will no longer being doing Positive Behavior Support Plans. Not all services will have a training component. Day Habilitation will only be billed for members attending a site based day habilitation program. There will be 3 types of service arrangements. Mainstream will only be providing services through the Traditional Service Model.
I am always pleased and excited to share information with our families. If you have something you would like to share please drop me a line. Also, I am hoping to utilize the website to keep parents and employees updated on future trainings.
